Raw Food Cleanse – How am I faring?

Day 5 of my Raw Food Cleanse.  Overall, I’m feeling great. The only detox symptom I’ve had is a little bit of a nagging headache, most likely from caffeine withdrawal. The one snafu I’ve hit is that I need more calories than the base diet provides. I lost 4 pounds in 2 days and since I’m not trying to lose weight on this diet, I need to make some modifications. So, I’ve added a little bit of quinoa and yams. Obviously, these aren’t raw but at least they are plants so I’m staying in that part of the theme of the program. I’ve observed a couple of things over the last week....

Yes! I’m Going To Do A Raw Food Cleanse

Posted by on Sep 5, 2013 in Blog, Cleanse, Fitness, Nutrition | 0 comments

I’m excited that I’ll soon be doing a Raw Food Reset Cleanse. Created by Young and Raw, the cleanse is 100% naturopathic doctor reviewed and approved with meal plans, recipes, and shopping lists included. There’s even a Facebook group created just for people in the cleanse. I never really thought about doing a cleanse before. Overall, I eat great. Recently I had some routine blood work done and I was super proud of the results.  Other than some wonky hormones (I am entering menopause afterall), everything is perfect – including my B and D vitamin levels, which are often off for even the most health conscious people. Particularly noteworthy is that the marker for cardiac inflammation was so low they couldn’t even measure it!   So thankful for a healthy diet and exercise routine. Here’s one of my favorite healthy – and filling – winter recipes.  I hope you enjoy it! Turkey Stew INGREDIENTS (I use all organic): 1 to 1.5 lbs...

Welcome to my new blog!

Welcome to the first post of my reconstituted blog, coinciding with the launch of my new website!  It’s hard to believe how much has happened since I last posted in July.  My focus on studying health and nutrition at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition has propelled me towards what’s next for me. I employed a well known business coach who works with wellness professionals, Karin Witzig Rozell.  With her help, along with divine guidance sought through daily meditation and prayer, it became clear that the direction I should take was one that would allow me to meld my skills,...
